Das Amalienbad wurde von 1923 bis 1926 nach Plänen der Architekten Karl Schmalhofer und Otto Nadel erbaut. Es war damals die größte und modernste Badeanstalt Mitteleuropas, deren Innenausstattung im Art-déco-Stil errichtet wurde.
