Das Gebäude wurde 1911 als Denver Tramway Building im Art-déco-Stil erbaut. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg nutzte die University of Colorado das Bauwerk, in den späten 80er-Jahren wurde es als Büroräume und Speicherplätze genutzt. 1997 wurde das Tramway Building erneuert und beherbergt seitdem das Teatro Hotel.

The art-deco building was built in 1911 as the Denver Tramway Building. After World War II, the building hosted the University of Colorado, in the late 1980s it was used by office and storage spaces. Renovated in 1997, the Tramway building is housing the Teatro Hotel.
